General information

Background: Soho Parish School has been in existence since 1871, and is still in its original, 'attractive' building. The school is closely linked to the Soho community and seeks to 'make use of the wealth of history, culture and interest around us'. The school is described as 'an oasis of calm and care in the heart of the capital' and special emphasis is placed on spiritual and cultural development. All children have 'regular access' to computers and the internet. Soho parish also operate the Persil Fun Fitness Scheme as a basis for gymnastics and the Top Sport Scheme for games. Yearly school visits take place to museums, concerts and theatres. Children in Year 4 are taken on a three day residential trip to Sussex. The school states that: 'On the basis of our Christian (Anglican) foundation we seek to meet the needs of the children in our care. We aim to provide each child with an excellent primary education through careful nurture and the promotion of individual achievement.' .
