Background: St Clement Danes School is a voluntary aided, Church of England primary school for girls and boys between the ages of three-and-a half and 11. The school was founded in 1700. It now occupies a fine Victorian building in Drury Lane in the city of Westminster. The site and the building are owned by the St Clement Danes Educational Foundation, which provides financial assistance to the school. The Church of St Mary-le Strand is the school?s Parish Church. The school also has links with Churches of St Clement Danes and St Paul?s Covent Garden. The St Clement Danes School Parents? Association was formed in 1978 and has played an active role in supporting the school through regular fund raising activities. The school currently has clubs for art and crafts, information and communication technology (ICT), drama and choir. The School is a Christian school and governors seek to provide a sound and full education with a caring Christian atmosphere. This school aims to run a school where everyone feels valued and where there is a feeling of community and a clear sense of purpose that embraces children, staff, parents and carers, governors and other colleagues and friends in the local community.
