General information

Background: Founded in 1869, many existing classes are still housed within the original building. A new classroom was added in 1994 to cater for an increasing intake. New building work will provide an IT suite, a new year 6 classroom and more support rooms. It has more than a dozen after school clubs, including football, cross-stitch, recorders and a book club. Sport is 'enthusiastically' promoted both as part of the curriculum and in after-school clubs. In 1999 the school won the Evening Standard award for outstanding achievement, in 2002 an Active Mark gold and Achievement Awards in 2001, 2002 and 2003. It is a school where 'children of different cultures and faiths learn happily together.' Drama productions include Guys and Dolls, Little Shop of Horrors and Bugsy Malone. The school's mission is to deliver rigorous, high quality education to enable pupils to leave St. Peter?s as self-motivated, independent learners with the ability to reach their full potential. It will do its utmost to ensure that all children have experienced a broad and balanced curriculum and are proficient in the core skills of reading, writing and numeracy. As a Church school it seeks to establish a community founded on Christian values, promoting moral and social responsibility and a respect for other faiths and cultures. .
