General information
Background: Two schools, Grange and Forebraes, combined in 1965 to form Lornshill Academy. After a period of transition, the 'new' school took up residence in its present building in 1970. One of the first purpose-built comprehensives in Scotland, Lonshill Academy is able to offer many facilities including house areas, each with its own separate dining and recreational space, a 250-seat theatre, a swimming pool, a library and a youth and community wing. A multi-million pound investment in upgrading sports facilities to benefit the community is underway. Learning support teachers and helpers are available. The school maintains a caring and purposeful ethos' to form a community in which all contribute and feel valued. .
