Background: Muckhart Primary School was built in 1845, in the centre of the parish. It enjoys a rural setting outside the village on the road to Muckhart Golf Club. There are extensive grounds to the rear of the building with a playground area and a large grassed area. An action committee has been formed from members of the school board and PTA, with the purpose of securing funding to develop this area. The school building consists of three classrooms and an assembly/dining hall. There is a secure door entry system to the school. The classrooms and office have recently been refurbished. The school aims to provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
