General information
Background: Charlestown Primary School opened in 1974 and replaced the old village school. The school is set in its own tree lined grounds comprising of a large playing field, an environmental area and three areas of hard play. Currently there is a classroom, central hall, library, ICT suite, administrative area and Elliot Hut for music and group work. A new school office and resource area was completed in July 2004 and school library and ICT suite completed in December 2005. The school has begun to develop the grounds with the help of friends of Charlestown School. The school?s mission statement is to promote the highest standards of work and behaviour and to provide opportunities for success for all children in a caring environment of mutual trust, respect and harmony.
