General information

Background: The school was founded in 1813 and sits in grounds recently extended to an acre. The buildings are light and airy and were opened by the Bishop of Truro in 1967. It is a small village school whose catchment area serves both Cury and Gunwalloe, as well as welcomes those from surrounding areas whose parents would like a Christian education for their children. The school describes itself as well equipped to meet the current educational demands. The school is involved with activities run jointly with other schools. These may include dance, art and music workshops, netball and cricket clubs. The school has close links with the parish church as well as other schools in the area. Fundraising for the school is coordinated by the schools association, and for charities by the pupils themselves. The school aims to promote Christian values and to provide a stimulating, enjoyable and secure environment in which everyone can grow and develop.
