General information

Background: Falmouth School is an 11 to 19 community school. The school is superbly equipped and set in large attractive grounds, which provide for a range of sporting and environmental activities. The buildings have undergone extensive upgrading and now include a brand new hall and canteen, drama and dance studios, a state of the art music suite and recording studio, six new science laboratories and art studios with specialist ceramics rooms. Other areas of the school have been re-built to provide a new library, computer rooms and well equipped subject teaching rooms. The school has genuine strengths across the curriculum with traditions of excellence in the arts, technology, humanities and sciences. In 2003 the school has gained the prestigious Investors in Careers award for the fourth time, in recognition of the excellent work of the careers guide department. The visual arts department has been awarded Artsmark and Artworks status. The school has also achieved the School Curriculum award. This school offers a wide choice of extra-curricular clubs, such as trampolining, gymnastics and badminton. It also offers various clubs for badminton, basketball, hockey, netball, rounders, swimming, cross-country, football, various music groups, library club, dance club, art club, computer club, film club and conservation group. The school aims to provide a friendly and stimulating environment where students learn to develop responsibility through good relationship with staff and peers.
