General information

Background: Sidney Stringer Community Technology College is situated in the heart of Coventry: a multi-ethnic and multi-faith city with a rich variety of cultures which are reflected in its uniquely warm and exciting atmosphere. Students and staff have access to networked computer hardware and software facilities in every area of the school as well as access to a wide range of other information technology equipment. This equipment includes CD ROM facilities, image capture and video scanners, computerised video editing facilities, computer enhanced music facilities and on-line links which provide access to e-mail and computer conferencing. The school has well-equipped science laboratories. There are ten rooms equipped for art and design including a suite for enterprise technology. The national curriculum has core subjects including English, mathematics and science and foundation subjects including art and design, music and drama, physical education at GCSE, humanities - history, geography, leisure and tourism and religious education, languages, design technology, information technology. The school aims to provide students with a calm, safe working environment in which they can achieve their full potential.
