General information

Background: Ashburton Community School is an 11-16 co-educational comprehensive school, situated in grounds of 22 acres, including large playing fields. The school is very fortunate to have access to excellent sports facilities. Two gymnasiums and extensive playing fields are available to all pupils. Pupils are introduced to the range of ICT systems available throughout the school. Computers are also available in the learning resource centre. The school offers an extensive range of extra-curricular activities. This broad range extends from a full range of sports to creative and imaginative activities such as art and drama. Pupils can learn musical instruments such as piano, guitar and trumpets. Day trips and residential trips are run for all years. In 2002 the school was re-awarded the coveted, national Sportsmark award. The school aims to provide a rich educational experience for all its pupils.
