General information

Background: Chipstead Valley Primary School is positioned on a seven-acre site with a number of playing fields and playgrounds. The school consists of five blocks. The foundation stage building houses two classrooms, an indoor activity area and its own fenced playground. Key Stage 1 building houses the Year 1 and Year 2 classes, the infant hall and infant school office, a library, a special educational needs room, the music teaching suite and an ICT room. Key Stage 2 building houses classrooms for Year 3 to Year 6, the junior school hall and a main school office. The school has its own training swimming pool and a school canteen. Extra-curricular activities include football, netball, cricket, athletics, art, computer, chess, mathematics games and magazine publishing. The school competes successfully in local leagues in football and netball and in a number of swimming galas. There are two active junior choirs and a school orchestra. Each year the children take part in a number of visits to support the curriculum. Money raised at events is used to improve facilities and provide equipment for the benefit of all children within the school. The school aims to sustain a safe, happy and secure school environment, which is stimulating and challenging and respected by the pupils. .
