General information

Background: Allonby School is a small community primary school situated on the west coast of Cumbria. The new development will include a sports hall, changing rooms, art area, and an area for exhibitions, a library and a room designated as an ICT suite. It has recently been able to replace six computers in the IT suite with financial assistance from local businesses and money from the school's standards fund. The children are given opportunities to sing and play percussion instruments as well as compose music in small groups. Allonby School does its best to ensure that children have access to sports provision. Team sports such as football, rugby, and netball are taught in school, and the school enters tournaments when possible. Swimming has a high priority in the school. The school aims to enable each child to develop as an individual and to achieve high standards in learning and behaviour within the context of the national curriculum and other government requirements.
