General information

Background: Cartmel Priory School is a voluntary aided Church of England Comprehensive school for 11-16 year olds catering for students of all abilities. The school has been recognised nationally as a Specialist Technology College, with substantial funding emphasising mathematics, science and technology. The school has been thrice awarded Sportsmark Gold for its outstanding contribution to sport both in school and community. It has been awarded the new ?Healthy School? standard (one of the few secondary schools in the north). It is a member of the Rural Academy of Cumbria. In the last three years the school proud to have added new science laboratories, a new art, design and technology block (with an emphasis upon light with airy accommodation to the highest specification) and enlarged mathematics suite. The school are presently equipping with interactive whiteboards, video conferencing, and design studios, which incorporate facilities for computerised as well as individual design. The school has a fantastic sporting record gaining the much coveted Sportsmark Gold award, and regularly competing in inter-school matches. Cartmel Priory School is a caring and supportive environment in which learning is valued.
