General information

Background: Stainton Church of England Primary School was built in 1965 and extended in 1974, 1993 and 1999 to accommodate a growing local community. The school offers access to a secure curriculum foundation, but also aims to provide many broader educational opportunities including musical tuition, choir, visits to places of interests, participation in local events and activities. A variety of extra-curricular activities are also offered. The school hall, which is used by all year-groups for physical education, assemblies, choir practices, drama and school services. The governors are pursuing funding for the provision of new school hall, which will be more suited to the extensive rang of activities that are planned to take place in the school. The school also has ICT suite containing 15 networked computers. The Year 2 and Year 3 classrooms are also equipped with interactive whiteboards for specific use, and the school continues to explore ways of making teaching more effective through the use of ICT. The school also benefits from two outdoor playgrounds and an extensive field, which also includes an environmental area that is currently being developed. As a Church of England School, it aims to encourage in each of its children a Christian way of life and to enable them to attain their full potential in a happy and secure environment.
