Background: Bishop Pursglove CofE (A) Primary School serves a rural community in the Peak District, whichincludes the large village of Tideswell and other smaller surrounding villages and farms. The buildings are well lit and spacious, set in several acres of grounds which are used for sports, environmental studies and other outdoor activities. It has six classrooms, a hall, changing rooms and its own kitchen. The school has a wide range of activities including music, dance, football, hockey, cricket, netball and tennis. The school curriculum covers the following subjects: English, mathematics, science, creative arts, humanities, religious education, citizenship, physical education and health education. The school aims to encourage in the children a personal faith, to feel valued, to value others and to experience the mystery of the world in which they live.
