General information

Background: The school called the Bradley and Yeldersley National School, mixed, was opened for the first reception of children on 13 October 1873. The school provides the creative curriculum. Computers are used across the whole curriculum as a teaching aid to encourage children's learning. The school provides a range of sporting activities, which include gymnastics, athletics, football, tag rugby, kwik cricket, netball etc. The juniors are also given the opportunity to take part in sporting competitions against other local primary schools. These regularly include a swimming gala, football league and informal matches with other schools. In 2003 the school has achieved a Healthy Schools Award. In November 2004 it was awarded Activemark Gold in recognition of its outstanding commitment to physical activity as part of the school's provision. In recognition of its excellent work in all aspects of the arts it was awarded an Artsmark Gold award by the Arts Council of Great Britain. The school has a Christian foundation and by fostering self-discipline, it aims to enable all children to achieve their full educational, spiritual anmd social potential. .
