Background: Blundell's is an independent co-educational school of around 550 pupils aged 11-18 years. Its situation in the heart of beautiful, unspoilt rural Devon, on the east side of the historic market town of Tiverton, is both attractive and convenient. The school land covers 90 acres and the campus is attractively sited either side of the road which runs out from Tiverton to the surrounding villages of Halberton and Sampford Peverell. The main school buildings are clustered centrally at the west end, whilst the playing fields stretch eastwards, with splendid views of rolling countryside on all sides. The music department is at the back of Big School. The Vaughan Williams concert room is frequently used for informal lunchtime gatherings. The standard is very high and recent years have seen pupils win full colours for their performance. There has also been a leader of the Devon Youth Orchestra. Blundell's aims to share as wide range of theatrical events as possible. Everyone has a wide range of choice to partake. The Spring Term sees the continuation of a Corinthian policy whereby several sports are fully available. These include hockey, football, netball, badminton, basketball, rugby fives, squash rackets, fencing, cross-country and rugby sevens.
