Background: Founded in 1873 Braunton Caen County Primary School is a large primary school with high academic, personal and environmental standards. A high priority is placed to ensure that children master skills of numeracy and literacy and all learning takes place in a controlled, stimulating and ordered environment. The school has been particularly successful in sports, especially soccer and tag rugby. It also prides itself on the standard of its artwork, which is on display throughout the school. It provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities including football, netball, tag rugby, performing arts, recorders and music. The school gives children the opportunity to discover and develop individual talents.
