General information

Background: Initially founded in 1620, the present school has been on this site since 1890. It is a small rural school consisting of the old school building, a new link building, and two temporary classrooms. There are two playgrounds and the village hall is used for physical education and dance. The school is part of a small but lively village community, which is invited to share in school activities. These include an annual programme of events in school and the village, in collaboration with the Clyst Hydon Primary School. Extra-curricular activities include football, cricket, netball, swimming, dance and gym. The children also participate in the village arts and crafts festival, and regularly write for the village magazine. Children raise the money to go by organising various events. The school aims to provide a friendly, caring environment in which all parents are encouraged to play an active part.
