General information
Background: St Wilfrid?s School is a Voluntary Aided Co-educational Primary Day School, administered in a partnership between Doncaster LEA and the Diocese of Sheffield. It is both a community school, serving the villages of Branton and Old Cantley and a church school serving the parish of Cantley. The school was built on its present site in 1970-71, having previously been sited first in the chapel of St Mary, Branton and then at the junction of Cantley Lane and Warning Tongue Lane. The spacious building was partially remodelled in 1992 and then extended in 1999. There are now seven classrooms, a library and computer area, a large hall and a dining area. A computer suite containing 16 internet-connected PCs was completed in September 2000 and this provides a valuable educational resource. A new administration block was added in September 2002, along with the remodelling of the staffroom and toilets. A small medical room was also provided. There are variety of extra-curricular activities offered in school including: football, netball, tennis, rounders, cross-country, drama and dance. .
