General information
Background: Highcliffe Junior School was opened in 1962 having its origins in St Mark's primary School which was housed in the old building on Lymington Road. It is situated in Greenways on the edge of Chewton Common with its own playing field and is surrounded by trees and shrubs which are regarded as a conservation area. All classrooms in the main building face south with a pleasant view across the playing field. There is a large tarmac playground on the north side of the building incorporating netball and tennis courts and an open-air swimming pool on the west side. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These include French, gymnastics, tennis, yoga, football, netball, gardening and athletics. The school aims to provide a safe and secure environment.
