General information

Background: The school was founded in 1833. Since then, the original buildings have undergone major refurbishment, a two-storey extension was added in the 1950s and an early-years and administration block in 1997. Attractively situated in a leafy residential area close to the green belt and the North Worcestershire countryside, it has its own playing fields and is well-established within the community. A strong musical tradition sees many children playing an instrument, and there is a full school orchestra an choir. ICT is a strength; well-equipped; NAACE mark (2004). Extra-curricular activities include a residential visit for Year 6 and competition in inter-school sports. Popular privately-run activity club runs from 8am and until 5.30pm; active parent-teacher association raises about £5,000 a year. Close affiliation with the church encourages pupils to stage entertainments at the local hospice and residential homes. Before-school care, from 8am; after-school care, until 5.30pm.
