General information

Background: Harris Academy was founded in 1885 and is the oldest public school in Dundee. The school building was constructed in 1930 and extended in the mid-1960s. Over the past five years, extensive internal modernisation, the addition of new classrooms and of a games complex have provided with the most modern of facilities in which to educate young people. One of the distinctive features of the school is the exceptionally wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer, and the high level of participation by pupils. The school has special strengths in music, sport, debating and public speaking. The school aims to ensure that all pupils fulfil their potential, academically, personally, socially and vocationally. .
