Background: Eldon Lane Primary School was opened in the village of Coronation in 1908. There are 11 schools in the Bishop Auckland area covering Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This school provides a happy, caring, secure, stimulating, well-disciplined, inclusive environment in which all children can flourish. Eldon Lane Primary School seeks to provide all children with an inclusive, broad, balanced and relevant curriculum matched to their individual needs. Through the year children are involved in activities away from school, which may incur a small cost. Whenever possible activities are subsidised from school fund and Dene Valley transport scheme and it asks parents for voluntary contributions towards the cost of these outings and visits.
