General information

Headteacher: Mrs A Evans.

Background: Harvington is a small private school for girls situated in Ealing, West London. The school is equipped with a modern science laboratory, computer, art, music and drama rooms, a gymnasium and two libraries. The school marks all major religious festivals. It has an IT suite with enough computers to allow for individual use. Pupils help to produce their own in-house magazine. The school offers wide range of subjects to GCSE level. It has a range of after-school and extra-curricular activities, and offers private tuition for violin, flute and piano. There is also an active parents association, which supports the school in a variety of practical ways. Outside activities include visits to the theatre, museums and places of interest.

Inspection: March 2004: Harvington School is a small school which successfully achieves its aims. The small classes, the good teaching and learning, and the happy, welcoming, supportive atmosphere lead to good academic attainment and progress from pupils with a wide range of abilities and cultural backgrounds. The very good pastoral care and provision for personal development result in very good behaviour and attitudes to learning. However, the procedures for assessing and recording the achievement, progress and needs of pupils are not used consistently in the senior school.

Boys' age range: 2 to 4.

Girls' age range: 2 to 16.
