General information
Background: Cumnock Academy was opened in 1925. There is a library resource centre that provides a central information resource to support and enhance the school curriculum and to encourage independent learning. The school has excellent physical education facilities and offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities. These include football, basketball and netball. The school also has a jazz band, junior and senior choirs, a bagpipe group, wind and brass bands and a string group. Throughout the year the school plays an active role in raising funds for many charitable organisations. The school aims to promote effective learning and teaching in a safe, caring, well-ordered and well-resourced environment. .
