Background: Dunbar Grammar School is a six-year comprehensive, non-denominational and co-educational school. It serves the town of Dunbar and the surrounding area offering a broad range of courses for all students up to Advanced Higher level. The present building was opened in 1961 and is situated in an attractive site in the centre of Dunbar. It has spacious playground areas and a games field within the school grounds. The school is fully equipped for disabled access. The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities. These include Duke of Edinburgh, charity committee, football, hockey, rugby, drama club, reading club and music groups. The school aims to promote success in all its various forms and to create for learning as many opportunities as possible.
