Background: Prestonpans Primary School was opened in 1973. It is situated between the A198 Edinburgh - North Berwick road and Preston Road, directly opposite the railway station. It is a single-storey building, of semi-open plan design, set in landscaped grounds with tarmacadam playing areas. The central block of the building houses the kitchen, dining hall, offices, staff room and a gymnasium/assembly hall. The school offers a number of after-school activities and clubs, which include scripture union, basketball, football, recorder, games and computer. The school aims to provide and share the highest quality of learning and teaching.
