General information

Background: Busby Primary School is a non-denominational, co-educational school. The present building was erected in 1904 and has two levels those house four classrooms, two general practice rooms, a pupil support base, school library, central hall and admin area. The school has a modern purpose built extension linked to the main school by a linking corridor which houses a further four classrooms, two nursery classes, an ICT suite and a gym/dining hall. There are ample playground facilities with a playing field adjacent to the school used for sports and outdoor activities. Letting arrangements are the responsibility of community and leisure. A security system and newly installed CCTV operates in the school. It can be described architecturally as being of free renaissance style. Each child in school has equal opportunity to develop to the maximum of his/her abilities and talents through participating in all aspects of the curriculum. Busby Primary offers a wide range of extra curricular activities to pupils. The school recognises that pupils should have a wide range of opportunities that they realise success and achievement from. Clubs currently on offer include: netball club, basketball club, indoor athletics club and senior choir. The school aims to provide a bright, welcoming and stimulating environment.
