Background: St Joseph's is a co-educational, Roman Catholic school. The school building is a combination of traditional and open-plan design and the most modern methods and resources are used to provide a curriculum to suit the needs of each individual child. The accommodation includes 13 classroom areas, music room, gymnasium, dining hall/kitchen, administrative offices, medical room, audio-visual room and library. During 1993/94 the school benefited from a major extension, which increased the capacity and greatly enhanced the facilities offered. The school is also available for community use in the evenings. The school offers various extra-curricular activities, which include football, Scottish country dancing and chess. The school aims to develop a stimulating and rewarding learning experience where independent learning is promoted and the needs of individual pupils are met. .
