General information
Background: Buckswood School is the cornerstone of the Buckswood Education Group, on a large, safe, beautiful campus nestling in the Sussex countryside.The St George?s residence is an impressive, large house in a very pleasant residential area of St Leonard?s, Hastings, close to the shops and the seafront. The school sits in a beautiful 30 acre site. There is a common room with TV, VCR and internet access for student use, and a laundry room with washing and drying machines. There is a kitchen available for student use for the preparation of snacks and light meals. The school equipped with the sports facilities with Playing fields, heated swimming pool, local indoor sports centre, sailing boats and canoes, basketball court, new tennis courts, new skateboarding ramp. .
Inspection: November 2003: 'The education provided by the Buckswood School is good. It has a broad and flexible curriculum which is responsive to pupils' needs. This is supplemented by a breadth of other activities. Provision for pupils' spiritual, moral social and cultural development is very good. A third of the lessons seen were very good and all except two were satisfactory. Teaching is good and pupils make good progress in most lessons seen and over time. The provision for the pupils' spiritual, moral social and cultural development is strength of the school. Students? behaviour seen in and around the school is excellent.'
