Streaming/setting: Streamed and moved according to ability rather than age.
Approach to discipline: The school has ethical codes. There is one member of staff who upholds and enforces adherence to these codes.
Uniform: Uniform colours are green and blue.
Homework: Average 11-year-old, 2 hours a week; 14-year-old, 5 hours; 16-year-old, 10 hours.
Special needs: Most of the school is wheelchair accessible.
Inspection: February 2005: Greenfields School enables its pupils to achieve GCSE results that are high in relation to their abilities. English as foreign language (EFL) students and pupils with learning difficulties make good progress. The quality of learning is generally good in the upper school where the school's approach to teaching pupils how to learn (study technology) enables them to achieve increasingly high standards. Pastoral care and the provision that is made for moral and social development are good. A very positive ethos is evident throughout the school. Though most of the teaching is sound and that in the nursery and sixth form is good, the quality of teaching in reception and in modern foreign languages in years 7 to 9 is unsatisfactory.
Boys' age range: 2 to 18.
Girls' age range: 2 to 18.
Average class size (juniors; under-11): 8.
Average class size (seniors; 11-16): 10.
Average class size (sixth form): 5.
