General information
Background: Founded in 1887; small rural school housed in wooden building of very welcoming design and rebuilt in staged development over 10 years. Situated in heart of village; strong community and church links. Single-form entry, with seven classes, computer suite with 15 computers, new library extension and two playgrounds. Over-subscribed, with 1.2 applications per place. Broad and balanced curriculum enhanced by wide range of sporting and creative after-school clubs; strengths include mathematics, science, art and English. Termly fundraising to support national and international charities; parents' association also raises funds for school as well as local and national causes. Community sports field five minutes' walk from school. After-school clubs: football, rugby, netball, hockey, table tennis, cross-country, computer, chess, gardening, gymnastics, recorder, cricket, summer sports, and school mini-enterprise. Brakfast Club available. Ethos: 'Aims to provide a happy, caring environment, to aspire for excellence in every area of the life of our school following the values and teaching of the Christian faith and to enable children to fulfil their potential.' .
