General information

Background: There has been a school in the town since Victorian time and the original building is now used as a training centre. The school is based on a split site, both sites being located near to the town, the open countryside and the sea. The college serves Seaford and the surrounding community. Most of the original buildings date from 1970 but two 'substantial' additions were added in 1995 and 1999. The upper site, with buildings dating from the 1930s, 1970s and 1990s, is used for Key Stages 3 and 4 and for adult education classes. Both sites have 'excellent' ICT suites and the upper site includes an indoor heated swimming pool. The college is proud of its 'excellent' facilities which include two new 'state-of-the-art' learning resources centres. It offers a 'broad, balanced curriculum', with all students following an arts, humanities, technology and modern foreign languages programme as well as the core subjects up to GCSE. The school has a 'fine record of academic, artistic and sporting achievement'. It considers itself to be 'very much part of the local community', and would like 'all students to enjoy learning in their college and achieve high levels of success'.
