General information
Background: Opened in 1963, Craigroyston Community High is situated on a large green field site. Sporting facilities include playing fields, an all-weather pitch, squash court, gym, games hall and swimming pool. The school offers pupils a 'very high' level of support in personal development, learning behaviour and careers. The 'broad' range of extra-curricular activities includes a number of sports, history club, homework club, skiing and canoeing. As a community school, Craigroyston also caters for adults and has an under-fives' centre. The school's ethos is 'child-centred', 'supportive' and 'community oriented', focussing on 'quality teaching and learning'. There are four special educational needs (SEN) teachers and four SEN auxiliaries providing support to pupils both within the classroom and in the two 'well resourced' SEN bases.
