Background: Echline is a semi-open plan school, opened in 1980. It is arranged into 14 bays. A multi-purpose bay has been created in the infant area. The school serves an area in the north west of the City of Edinburgh and overlooks the river Forth. There is a hall used for various purposes such as gym, drama, assemblies and lunch. There are three distinct tarred play areas and large grassy areas surrounding the school. The school has a very active parent staff association who work very hard to plan an annual programme of events. .
