General information
Background: The school founded in 1912 and the school has a long-standing tradition and place within the local community. In 1999/2000, the school introduced higher still courses in most departments and organised a sponsored walk for charity. The school is proud of its sporting achievements at national and local level and is in its 20th year of exchange with Germany. The school introduces new strategies, which includes improving communication with parents from ethnic minority groups whilst computer hardware and software within the school has been significantly enhanced with the introduction of the phoenix school administration system, high speed, high quality Internet access and email addresses for all staff and pupils. The school has a strong learning support and special needs department. The school aims to provide a happy, secure and caring environment.
