General information

Background: Churchfield Primary School is a three-form entry school with 681 children on roll. There are 18 classes in the main school and an early years unit for three to five year olds. All classes have up to 30 children. The classes are grouped according to age, and are of mixed gender and ability. In the summer of 2001 the existing nursery and three reception classrooms were refurbished to form a new early years unit. The unit includes five areas: literacy, numeracy, discovery, creativity and outside. It is designed to meet the requirements of the foundation stage curriculum.
