General information

Background: Enfield County School was opened as a girls' comprehensive in 1967 following the amalgamation of two well established girls' schools, each with a long tradition of high academic achievement, a commitment to effective teaching and encouraging positive attitudes and an expectation of good standards of work and behaviour. At Enfield County, its aim to create a calm, purposeful environment where students are expected to adopt a positive attitude towards study and to contribute fully to the life of the school. Extra-curricular clubs are offered at lunchtimes and after school, and include: netball, hockey, fooyball, basketball, rounders, athletics, fitness and tennis. The school aims to provide a caring environment, which empowers students to make informed choices about their roles as women in society and in the world of work.
