General information
Background: Highlands School is an 11-18 mixed, inclusive, community comprehensive school serving west Enfield in London. The school was opened in September 2000 in new purpose-built accommodation with a Year 7 intake of 210 students. The school shares a site with Grange Park Primary. The school has three information and communication technology (ICT) rooms, which can accommodate whole classes, and an information technology (IT) equipped group workroom. It has a sports hall, an all-weather pitch and six tennis courts in addition to a rugby pitch, football pitch, facilities for track and field athletics and an artificial cricket wicket and practice nets. Available sports include football, rugby, hockey, netball, basketball, volleyball, athletics, cricket, tennis, badminton, trampolining and gymnastics.
