Background: Merryhills Primary School is a two-form entry school, and all classes are of mixed ability. It has two playgrounds: one for the infants and one for the juniors, with an additional quiet outdoor area, designed by the children, known as the centre playground. The school grounds have plenty of open green space that pupils use in good weather for play, sports and learning activities. The school has an ICT suite containing 20 networked computers and a large projection screen. The school is committed to providing the best possible educational opportunities for all its children by nurturing self-esteem, self-discipline and a good sense of responsibility.
