General information

Background: St Paul's is a thriving, oversubscribed and well-equipped all-age primary school in an attractive part of north London in the London Borough of Enfield. It is a voluntary-aided Church of England school within the Diocese of London which aims to ensure that its pupils are educated in accordance with the teaching and principles of the Church of England and that its curriculum is securely based on Christian beliefs and values. The school lies within the parish of St Paul's, Winchmore Hill. It also caters for children from other neighbouring parishes: Holy Trinity, Winchmore Hill, St John the Evangelist, Palmers Green and St Peter's, Grange Park. There are close links with all the local churches. The children and their teachers attend church as a school regularly each half term. There are seven age groups in the school, from Reception to Year 6. Each age group consists of two parallel mixed-ability classes and the maximum class size is 30 in normal circumstances. For management purposes the work of the school is divided into three age stages: infants (Reception and Years 1 and 2), lower juniors (Years 3 and 4) and upper juniors (Years 5 and 6). The curriculum of the school includes netball, football, cross-country, rugby, cricket, art and design. It provides various opportunities to enhance the learning of pupils. .
