General information

Headteacher: Mrs C Naismith.

Background: The school comprises two sites, the Junior School and the Senior School. An extended mid Victorian House the Senior School site has subject based teaching rooms. These are well supported by specialist rooms for art, careers, ICT with full Broadband Internet access, music, drama and a library. A purpose built block houses two science laboratories. Outside the wooded grounds provide a restful recreation area and a netball/tennis court. .

Inspection: June 2001: 'Braeside has a very good senior school which has significant strengths. Standards of achievement and progress are high in relation to the wide ability range of the pupils. In two-thirds of the lessons observed, the quality of the teaching was good or very good and in the remainder it was satisfactory in all but a few lessons. The teachers are strongly committed to the pupils? education, pastoral care and welfare. The provision for pupils? personal development is of high quality. The school needs to prepare a whole-school development plan that sets out a programme of curriculum, teaching and management development, broaden the range of extra-curricular activities and introduce an appraisal process for the staff.'

Girls' age range: 3 to 16.
