Background: Slamannan Primary School is a non-denominational school situated in the village of Slamannan, 6 miles south east of Falkirk. It enjoys an open outlook over farmland and is served by a mixture of local authority and private housing. The school building provides an excellent accommodation and comprises an original building dating from 1875 and a 1970's two-storey extension. Accommodation includes a music room, television room, library, structured playroom, art room and computer suite. There is a large well-equipped assembly/sports hall and a separate dining room. Most of the playground area is at the rear of the school building and is hard surfaced. There are two grassed areas at the front of the building. The school has a very active Parent's Association who organises and run a programme of fundraising events throughout the school year. .
