General information

Background: Dunston Hill has a proud tradition of providing education for young children since 1910. The present primary school was formed in September 1992 following the amalgamation of the former Dunston Hill infant and junior schools. The school consists of a preparatory school centre and two main buildings. The lower building is used by children from nursery to Year 2 (3-7 year olds) and the upper building by children from Year 3 to Year 6 (7-11 year olds). The construction of the new nursery (above) was recently completed to enhance early years provision. A variety of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include football, tennis, hockey, netball, basketball, athletics, cross-country, gymnastics, rounders and orienteering. The school aims to provide a happy, attractive and challenging environment where each child can develop to the maximum of his or her potential and feel valued as an individual who can contribute to the life of the school and society in general.
