Background: Cleveden is a six-year comprehensive school providing the full range of secondary education for both boys and girls. It is non-denominational, and welcomes pupils of all religious persuasions. The school was opened in 1968 and is certainly one of the most attractive in Glasgow. It is set in mature woodland in its own extensive grounds. There is a small football pitch at the front of the school, and further extensive playing fields at Kirklee, a short walk away. The main building contains a full suite of classrooms, laboratories and practical rooms, including four well-equipped computer laboratories. There is a large dining room, serving lunches on a cash-cafeteria basis. The school also has a well-stocked library resource centre. The school aims to provide a safe, caring and orderly place to grow in knowledge, in skills and in understanding.
