General information

Background: Founded in 1875 in rural location in Cotswolds; experienced staff, supported by all parents. French taught throughout the school. Wide range of extra-curricular activities, including many sports, art, and Spanish. Music plays important role, with 40 per cent of Key Stage 2 pupils. Sporting success in soccer, netball, athletics, and cross-country; represented at national swimming gala in 2006. Pupils leave to go to any of 10 different secondary schools. After-school care, until 5.45pm. Over-subscribed, with 1.4 applications per place. International School award. Basic Skills Quality Mark; DfES achievement award. Ethos: 'Quality teaching and learning in a creative, vibrant atmosphere where everyone is valued and has fun. Based on a strong team working together with pupils, parents and the community in a supportive, caring manner. We have two mottos: "The future's bright; the future's ours" and "We don't aim to be the best at anything, but we do aim to do our best at everything."' .
