Background: Churchdown Village Junior School offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities including rugby, rounders, netball, footbal, cross country, cricket, athletics, art, country dancing, chess, drama, gardening, orchestra and recorder. The 'thriving' parent-teacher association provides many opportunities for parental involvement in the school through its fundraising for educational equipment and the organisation of social occasions. Churchdown School aims to foster 'a partnership between children, staff, parents and governors to provide a broad, balanced education for all pupils within a caring community, developing their independence, self esteem, moral and spiritual awareness and enabling them to fulfill their potential'.
