General information
Background: Cirencester Kingshill was founded in 1976 and moved to its present site on the eastern edge of Cirencester the following year. Although it originally shared a sixth-form with Deer Park School, this function has now been taken over by Cirencester College which opened in 1991. Kingshill is housed in a purpose-built semi-open-plan building in large grounds with many outdoor pitches. A 'huge range' of extra-curricular activities are offered including choir, an orchestra, pottery club, environmental group, drama workshops, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and a variety of sports. The school plays host to a variety of local clubs including gymnastics, keep fit, athletics clubs, and Lions Sports Coaching weekends. The ethos is 'friendly and caring with high standards, both academically and in terms of personal behaviour'.
