General information

Background: Dominican sisters opened the Rosary School in 1875. The school flourished, growing considerably in size, until, in July 1964, its existence as an all-age school was terminated. The senior pupils left to attend St. Peter's Secondary School and, the Rosary Primary School opened. In the summer of 1965 permission was obtained to build a new Primary School on the present site and this was completed by 1967. The architects and builders won the National Civic Trust Award in recognition of the successful way in which the building made use of its environment. The Bishop of Clifton performed the Official Opening and Blessing of the new school on 26th March 1968. The Rosary School is a loving community of faith, where parents, pupils, staff and governors aim to help each pupil reach their full potential as a child of god.
